First off, before I get to the knittin' stuff, I gotta say LET'S GO STEELERS!!
I don't know if any of you watched the football game yesterday, but wow! It was probably one of the best games I have seen, and I have been a Steelers fan my entire life. They definitely made up for this miserable game in Indy a few weeks ago. I spent the whole game screaming at the tv, and I think I held my breath for the last five minutes of the game, but they did it. Next up Denver.
Okay, on to the knitting. Yarn shopping on Saturday was quite productive. My sister came with me, and bought me a set of Crystal Palace dpns and a skein of Koigu as a late birthday present. I bought myself 3 other skeins of Koigu, and yes socks will be made.
I actually started on my first new pair, and bet you cannot guess what pattern I chose. Here I am working on said project And yes, I hate having my picture taken hence the tongue sticking out at the camera.
Now a close up picture of the pattern...any guesses yet? Frankly, if you cannot guess what pattern I am making from that shot, I don't know where you have been for the past few months, as it has been taking the knitting blog world by storm.
Yep...I am jaywalking again.
I had tried this pattern a few months ago, but I did not like the results. It ended up too big for my little feet, but I figured this beautiful Koigu was calling out to be a Jaywalker. I started the sock when I got home from the yarn store on Saturday afternoon, and I finished it last night after the football game/watching The West Wing. Holy fast socks Batman!
The sock still ended up a little bigger than I would have liked, as I am not getting the tight fit that everyone else seems to be getting, but I love the look of this sock anyway. Next pair (and there will be another pair) I might try doing 68 stitches instead of the 76.
